Sign-in options and passkeys

You can sign in to CVSheets in whichever way suits you best.

Ways to sign in

  • Email and password.
  • A passkey.
  • Google, Microsoft or LinkedIn.
  • A magic link sent to your email.

On the sign-in screen the social and passkey buttons come first, and the email form is below them.

Passkeys

A passkey replaces your password with something stored on your phone, laptop or security key. You unlock it with your fingerprint, face or device PIN. There is no password to guess, reuse or have stolen in a data breach, and a passkey only works on the real site.

Add a passkey from your security settings after you sign in.

Linking social accounts

You can link a Google, Microsoft or LinkedIn account only while you are already signed in. This stops someone else from attaching their account to yours.

New devices

When you sign in on a device we have not seen, we ask you to verify it. We also email you a new sign-in alert, so you notice if it was not you. Your signed-in devices are listed in your security settings, and you can sign any of them out.

Staying signed in

Sessions last 14 days and renew as you use them. Choose Remember me if you want to stay signed in on your own device.

Protection against guessing

After 5 failed attempts the account is locked for 5 minutes. After 3 failures we ask you to complete a human check. Sensitive actions, such as changing your security settings, ask you to confirm your password or passkey again.

For an extra layer of protection, read Two-factor authentication.
