Terms of service

These terms are the agreement between you and , a sole trader in the United Kingdom trading as CVSheets ("we", "us"), at . They apply when you use this website or the CVSheets app. By creating an account you agree to them.

These terms also include:

How we handle your data is in the privacy policy.

Who can use CVSheets

You must be 18 or over. You use CVSheets for yourself, to write and share your own CVs. If you use it for someone else, you must have their permission.

Your account

  • Give a real email address and keep your sign-in details safe. You are responsible for what happens in your account.
  • Tell us straight away if you think someone else has used it.
  • One person per account.

What we provide

CVSheets lets you write CVs, choose a design, download them and share them through a public link. The free plan is free for as long as you keep your account. Premium adds features for a fee, as described on the pricing page.

We work hard to keep CVSheets running, but we cannot promise it will always be available or free of faults. We may need to pause it for maintenance or in an emergency, and sometimes it may be read-only for a short time. We may change or improve features. If we remove a paid feature you rely on, we will tell you and you can cancel and get a fair refund for the time you have not used.

Your content

Your CVs and everything you put in them belong to you. You give us permission to store, process, display and copy your content only as needed to run the service for you: to save it, show it to you, make your downloads, publish it when you turn on a public link and send it to our AI provider when you use an AI feature. This permission ends when you delete the content or your account, except for copies in backups, which are gone within 8 hours.

You are responsible for your content. It must be true about you and must follow the acceptable use policy. Do not include other people's personal data without their permission.

Public links are off until you turn one on. When a link is on, anyone who has it can see the published copy of that CV. You can turn it off at any time, which deletes the published copy. If someone reports a public link, we follow our content policy.

AI features

AI suggestions can be wrong. Read every suggestion before you use it, and make sure your CV stays accurate and honest. You are responsible for what your CV says. See the AI notice.

Ending the agreement

You can delete your account at any time from your account settings. This also cancels any Premium subscription straight away.

We may suspend or close your account, or turn off a public link, if you seriously or repeatedly break these terms, if the law requires it, or to protect other people or the service. Unless the law or safety stops us, we tell you why and how to ask us to look again. If we close your account without a good reason related to your conduct, we refund any Premium time you have paid for and not used.

Our liability to you

If we break these terms, we are responsible for loss or damage you suffer that is a foreseeable result of that. We are not responsible for loss that was not foreseeable.

CVSheets is for personal use. We are not responsible for loss of business, loss of profit or loss of a business opportunity.

We are not responsible for the outcome of a job application, or for decisions employers make about you.

Nothing in these terms limits our liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, for fraud, or for anything else the law does not allow us to limit. Nothing in these terms affects your legal rights as a consumer.

Changes to these terms

We may update these terms, for example when the law changes or we add features. If a change matters to you, we email you at least 30 days before it applies. If you do not agree, you can delete your account before then, and we refund any Premium time you have paid for and not used.

The law and disputes

These terms are governed by the law of England and Wales. You can bring a claim in the courts of England and Wales, or, if you live in Scotland or Northern Ireland, in the courts there.

If you live in the European Union, you keep the protection of the mandatory consumer laws of your country, and you can also bring a claim in the courts where you live.

If you have a complaint, please contact us first at or through the contact form. We aim to resolve it within 14 days.

Other things

  • If a court decides part of these terms cannot be enforced, the rest still applies.
  • If we do not enforce a right straight away, we can still enforce it later.
  • We may transfer this agreement to someone who takes over CVSheets. We will tell you, and your rights under these terms will not be reduced. You may not transfer your account to someone else.
  • Only you and we have rights under these terms.
