AI notice

CVSheets has optional AI features that help you write your CV. This notice explains how they work, so you can decide when to use them.

What the AI features do

Feature What it does
Improve a bullet point Suggests clearer wording for one bullet point
Write a summary Suggests a short profile summary from your CV
Tailor to a job Suggests changes that match a job advert you paste in
Check spelling and grammar Suggests fixes across your whole CV
Translate Creates a new copy of your CV in another language

AI features are part of Premium, with a monthly fair-use allowance.

You are always in control

  • AI only runs when you start it. Nothing is sent in the background.
  • Every AI action shows a note that your text is sent to our AI service for that action only.
  • Suggestions are shown apart from your CV, next to that note. Nothing changes in your CV until you accept a suggestion, except Translate, which makes a new copy and leaves your CV as it is.
  • You can undo an accepted suggestion like any other edit.

Check every suggestion

AI can make mistakes. It can get facts wrong, misunderstand what you meant, or add things that are not true about you. Read every suggestion before you accept it. Your CV must stay accurate and honest, and you are responsible for what it says.

What is sent, and what is removed first

Only the part of your CV that the action needs is sent. Hidden sections are not sent.

Before your text leaves our system, we replace your name, email address, phone number and web links with placeholders. A second check removes any email address, phone number or link that is still there. When the answer comes back, we put your details back in. If the answer contains contact details that were not in your text, we discard it.

For Tailor to a job, the job advert you paste is sent too. It is not saved anywhere.

Who provides the AI

Our AI provider is Anthropic, in the United States. We send requests from our own AI service, which holds the provider key; your browser never talks to the provider.

We only use AI providers whose terms say they do not train their models on what we send, and our system refuses to start with a provider that does not commit to this. The provider may keep requests for a short time under its own terms, for example to detect abuse.

What we keep

We do not store the text you send or the answers in our databases or logs. We record only that an AI action happened, which feature, how many units of text it used and what it cost, so we can apply the allowance and control costs. Those records are kept for 400 days and deleted with your account.

An identical answer may be kept in memory for up to 24 hours, so that the same request is not paid for twice. It is then dropped, and it is cleared when you delete your account.

Limits and pauses

To keep costs fair, each person has a monthly allowance and a limit on how many actions can run per minute and per day. If our total AI spending reaches its safety limit, AI features pause for everyone until it resets. The rest of CVSheets keeps working.

Transparency under the EU AI Act

You are told whenever you use an AI feature, and AI suggestions are shown apart from your own text until you accept them. The AI features do not make decisions about you: they only suggest text for you to accept or reject. We do not use AI to rank, score or filter candidates.
