Why this works
Hiring managers read engineering applications quickly, so lead with outcomes rather than tools.
Show impact, not duties
Each bullet should say what you changed and by how much. "Cut nightly processing from 4 hours to 35 minutes" tells a reader more than "responsible for the reconciliation service". Use your own real numbers and leave a bullet without a figure rather than inventing one.
Name your stack once, clearly
List languages and platforms in the skills section and mention them in context in your bullets. Use the exact names from the job advert, such as .NET or PostgreSQL, so that applicant tracking systems can match them.
Link to real work
A GitHub profile or portfolio helps only when it is tidy. Pin two or three projects you can talk about, and make sure the links in your application work.
Keep it to one or two pages
One page suits fewer than five years of experience. After that, keep your most recent roles detailed and shorten older ones.
