Content and takedown policy
Most of what people write in CVSheets is private. The only content anyone else can see is a CV its owner has published through a public link (an address that starts with /r/). This policy explains how to report one and what we do.
Report a public link
Use the contact form or write to . Please include:
- the full address of the public link,
- what is wrong, and why you believe it is illegal or breaks our acceptable use policy,
- your name and email address, so we can reply (you may leave your name out if you report child sexual abuse material),
- a statement that you believe in good faith that your report is accurate and complete.
If you report a copyright problem, also tell us which work is yours, or whom you act for, and that you are its owner or allowed to act for the owner.
What happens next
- We confirm we have your report.
- A person reviews it. We act quickly, and faster when someone's safety is at risk.
- If the content is illegal or breaks our rules, we turn off the public link or remove the content, and may restrict the account.
- We tell you what we decided and why.
- We tell the CV owner what we did, why, whether the decision was based on a report and how to ask us to look again, unless the law or someone's safety stops us.
We do not use automated tools to decide reports.
If a report suggests a threat to someone's life or safety, we tell the police.
If your link was turned off
You can ask us to look again within 6 months through the contact form or by replying to our email. A person who was not involved in the first decision reviews it where possible, and we tell you the result. If we got it wrong, we turn the link back on. You can also take the matter to a court.
Reports we receive in bad faith
If someone often sends reports that are obviously unfounded, we may stop handling their reports for a while, after warning them.
